Actor Park Si-hoo has once again denied online rumors claiming that he introduced a woman to a married man and caused the man’s family to break apart. Park’s legal team reaffirmed their strong stance, stating the accusations are baseless and that the case is under police investigation.
On November 21, Park’s legal representatives at HyeMyung Law Firm revealed that legal proceedings are in progress against an individual who spread the claims on social media. The actor filed a criminal complaint back in August for defamation under Korea’s Information and Communications Network Act. Park’s side insists that the claims are clearly false and originate from malicious manipulation of private messages and photos illegally obtained from a former spouse’s mobile phone without consent.
Background
The controversy began in August when an online user accused Park of damaging a marriage by introducing a woman to her husband and posted private messages and pictures as alleged evidence. However, the woman shown in the photo denied knowing anyone involved, and the ex-husband stated he had only a local friendship with Park and had never been introduced to anyone by him. Park’s team emphasized that they will not tolerate any slander or fake news and plan to pursue all possible legal actions against the spreading of false information.
