YouTuber Kim Se-eui Questioned by Police Over Multiple Defamation Allegations from ‘The God of Business’ Host

Kim Se-eui, the head of the controversial YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute, appeared at the Gangnam Police Station on November 11 to answer allegations of defaming fellow content creator Eun Hyun-jang, who runs the popular channel The God of Business. Authorities confirmed that Kim is under investigation for defamation and insult under Korea’s Information and Communications Network Act.

This is Kim’s first police appearance since the case was reassigned to a special investigative team. He denied wrongdoing, stating that Eun had made exaggerated claims about being worth 50 billion KRW and that not challenging such statements would be irresponsible. Kim also claimed that he had avoided responding until now to keep focus on what he called his fight against government control.

Background

Last month, Eun Hyun-jang testified before a parliamentary committee, revealing that he had filed between 16 to 20 lawsuits against Kim but saw no progress. In response, the police admitted delays and reassigned 16 of the cases to their task force. Separately, Kim is also under investigation for allegedly spreading false rumors about actor Kim Soo-hyun’s relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor. Police say they’re continuing to review evidence and may summon Kim again if needed.

Kim disputed claims that he had been uncooperative, asserting he had never ignored a police summons or refused to be questioned.
